“I would be honored to have your support as I run for the LA County Board of Supervisors.” - Maria Elena Durazo

Maria Elena Durazo

Maria Elena Durazo is not just a mother and grandmother; she is a dynamic labor leader and organizer elected to represent the 26th District in the California State Senate. That district included the communities of Hollywood, Los Angeles, East Los Angeles, and Alhambra.  Throughout her career, Maria Elena consistently championed the rights of the voiceless, tirelessly advocating for working people, women, and families.

Her unwavering commitment to economic justice has led to positive changes in the communities she serves. She’s a leader who genuinely cares and delivers impactful results.

The Board of Supervisors manages a nearly $50 billion annual budget, which is larger than the budgets of most US states. Much of that budget is allocated to provide social and health services for Los Angeles County residents who cannot afford more expensive private services.

Maria Elena Durazo is a proven, effective leader who will ensure that the government effectively serves the people. She believes the government should waste less and help people earn more.
